Water Quality Reports

Canby School District is committed to providing clean and healthy facilities to serve the needs of all students and staff. The district has made a significant investment to ensure that the water in our buildings remains safe to drink.

We want anyone who enters our buildings to know that they’re exposed to a healthy, safe environment. By mitigating the risks associated with water quality, we allow our staff and students to confidently focus on education.

Oregon Department of Education requires that we do lead water testing in our schools and buildings every seven years on a two year cycle. We will be conducting our lead water testing in the school years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024. You can review our test results in the box labeled Lead Water Testing Results.

AHERA Notification & Reports

In 1986, Congress passed the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA). The law requires all schools, K-12, to be inspected for building materials containing asbestos.

Canby School District contracted with Kelsay Environmental Services to bring our schools into compliance with the AHERA regulations.

Our schools were inspected in accordance with the regulations by an EPA-accredited Kelsay Inspector. Samples of the suspect materials were taken and analyzed at the firm’s EPA-accredited laboratory. Based upon those findings, a Management Plan was written which outlines our intent to control and abate any asbestos-containing materials. The Management Plan has been submitted to the governor’s office as required by law.

A copy of the Management Plan is on file for your review in the Central Service Business Office at 1130 S. Ivy Street, Canby, Oregon.
